Filter Innovations Inc. Installs a Complete Packaged MBR Wastewater Treatment Plant in Brockville, ON

Brockville, ON – (May 2009) Filter Innovations Inc (FII) is pleased to announce the successful startup of a new Membrane Biological Reactor (MBR) Water Pollution Control Plant to replace the existing, 40 year old wastewater treatment facility at the Whitehouse Terrace just east of Brockville.

FII MicroClear^TM MBR System is a complete, integrated, pre-engineered wastewater treatment system that effectively meets MOE requirements for direct discharge into the St. Lawrence River.

The principle advantages of the MBR system include:

• Elimination of the final clarification and tertiary filtration steps
• Smaller footprint compared to conventional activated sludge treatment
• Significantly improved water quality such as:
• BOD < 5 mg/L
• Turbidity < 1 mg/L
• Total phosphorus – 0.9 mg/L
• Virus & bacteria removal – 99.999%

FII MBR’s are operated by automated control system to ensure efficient operation and guaranteed effluent levels are reached. The MBR system can be easily monitored and controlled from a distance by using proven, reliable, and user-friendly remote telemetry systems that reduce operator attendance.

The small footprint of the FII MicroClearTM MBR System enables it to be seamlessly integrated into natural surroundings; there is no noise, and no odour associated with the system.
